Beauty is Everywhere, short vid by Brian Andriola

Some inspiration from my talented son Brian Harter Andriola, with many shots from his various photo shoots and homes over the years and even a few of my things... the sound track is also beautiful! Enjoy this first week of spring!

An blog update for 2010 is better and easier than spring cleaning!

OK, it is about time to get my blog on!
Yesterday I was honored to be the interviewed guest on a Martha Stewart Living Show broadcast from the Napa Valley. I was introduced as a Wine Country Designer, Writer & Rabid Recycler of Architecture, Antiques and Found Objects. Host Mario Bosquez, a fabulous interviewer, put me at ease as I discussed the merits of barn doors, faux linen (drop cloths from Hope Depot), and how to tablescape with your neighbor's Meyer lemon bounty or things you might find on the side of the road. Producer Lauren Gould and her crew were smart hipsters from NY with zero pretense. What a great group!

At the very end of the show, I dropped the name SARDINE, literally squeezed it in... (sardines lend themselves so well to this). SARDINE is my new shop, and is opening soon, across from the Casino Bar in the town of Bodega, California (don’t blink or you’ll miss this tiny coastal berg in Western Sonoma County made famous by Hitchcock’s movie The Birds).

By the way, the house which I used as an excuse to launch this blog is sold. So watch for an evolution as this blog becomes a place to post awesome tips, ideas and inspiration for creating interior and exterior spaces like none other. This economy makes decorating with cast-offs even more appealing, so dump that penny jar into your pocket and let’s go!
